Residential Projects

TPHS have a wealth of experience of successfully developing transport strategies for all types of residential sites throughout London and the South of England, from access and design advice for a handful of units right through to provision of support for large strategic sites including representations and evidence to Local Plan or Planning Inquiries.

Residential schemes present different ranges of challenges for each site including providing acceptable access to the site, developing with architects and clients a workable masterplan in terms of road and pavement alignment and widths and the provision of servicing and parking layouts on the scheme.

TPHS provides no-nonsense advice to clients and their project teams on the provision of all the above issues and challenges, including challenging the norm for access design and preparing and presenting evidence at various forums including Public Meetings, Public Inquiries and Local Plan Inquiries. A number of our recent successes and projects are detailed below along with historical projects that members of the TPHS team, including Steve Jones, has personally project directed previously at other employments.

Work inputs on residential projects may include some or all of the following:

  • Production of feasibility or due diligence advice to clients pre-purchase
  • Provision of layout advice in terms of parking layouts, road alignments, access solutions etc. and AutoTRACK plots of service vehicles accessing the site
  • Provision of detailed assessment of non-car strategies for sites
  • Advice in relation to additional public transport services in terms of potential costs and advice in relation to calculating the impacts
  • Provision of third party land constraints and any land ownership issues
  • Detailed trips assessment and models of trip generation for sites
  • Provision of highway modelling of junctions to assess impacts
  • Provision of Transport Assessment or Statements and Travel Plans to accompany planning applications
  • Negotiations with local authorities
  • Provision of expert witness evidence and attendance at Public Inquiries
